HSBC DOWN – Banking app offline, as thousands hit with error message
The HSBC mobile app is currently down, leaving thousands of customers unable to login. HSBC customers have complained about not being able to access the banking tool, which is used to check balances, transfer money and generate codes. Independent website Down Detector has received thousands of reports that the HSBC app isn’t working.
The outage tracker monitors social mentions around certain topics to detect when services go down across the world.
The Down Detector outage map shows that the HSBC issues are affecting users in the UK, particularly in the London area.
Customers trying to login are greeted with an error message telling them to try again later.
“Error: Something went wrong. Please try again later,” the message reads.
The HSBC Twitter account is yet to acknowledge the issue, which hasn’t gone down well with customers.
One customer writes: “All online banking with HSBC is down; maybe you would like to inform your customers what is going on?”
Another tweets: “I’d like to be able to get into my accounts. The app is down. What’s going on?”
A third tweet reads: “From the looks of what people are tweeting at you, online banking is down this morning. Why isn’t this reflected on your service status page?”
As the final person points out, the HSBC server status page doesn’t reflect the issues appearing on the app.
According to the status page, all services are in full working order, and not experiencing any problems.
