TL;DR

  • Huawei has released a list of 65 devices that are now getting the stable Harmony OS 2 update.
  • The updated phones include Huawei and Honor’s previous flagship and mid-range smartphones.

More than two years into its US ban, Huawei is expanding the reach of its Harmony OS software. The company aims to install Harmony OS on 100 million devices before the end of the year. Working towards that goal, Huawei has announced the stable version of Harmony OS 2 is now rolling out to 65 devices.

The list of Huawei and Honor devices that are now getting the stable version of Harmony OS 2 includes older flagships like the Huawei P40, P30, Mate 40, and Mate 30 series. Huawei Nova devices ranging from Nova 6 to Nova 8 are also in line to get Harmony OS 2. Honor phones on the update list include the V30, V30 Pro, V20, Magic 2, and more.

When will your phone get Harmony OS 2?

Since the above list comes from the company’s China arm, you’ll probably have to wait a bit longer to get the new software if you’re based in the US, Europe, or other regions. Don’t worry if your Huawei or Honor phone is not on the list. The company has committed to updating over 80 models with the new software.

Harmony OS 2 was announced in September last year. The company’s latest P50 series flagship phones already feature the software out of the box. It brings various new features to Huawei and Honor phones, including an adaptive user interface depending on the device, improved security, and “AI audiovisual” for smarter voice recognition. It also promises enhanced cross-device functionality, faster remote read/write performance, and faster search performance than Samba and iOS Spotlight.
