IIT Jodhpur 37th National Symposium: Theme, topics covered and more – Times of India

The Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur is organising the 37th National Symposium on Plasma Science & Technology (PLASMA-2022) from December 12 to 14 in collaboration with the Plasma Science Society of India (PSSI). This event is aimed to motivate and provide exposure to both young and senior researchers working in various areas of plasma science and technology.
The symposium includes a keynote speech, plenary discussions, invited talks from distinguished scientists, and oral and poster presentations from research scholars and other attendees.
Young scientists working in the field of plasma science and technology have the opportunity to interact with renowned Indian plasma scientists at the symposium and present their research.

Scientists, technologists and engineers are pursuing research and development on various aspects of plasma science and technology in the frontier areas. These include Fusion research, Laboratory plasma research, Defence research, Space research, Material science, Food science, Health, Agriculture, etc.
Theme of PLASMA-2022: Plasma Technologies for Sustainable Development
It is a firm belief that cutting-edge plasma technologies can provide solutions for FEAR (i.e., Food/Health, Energy & Agriculture Retrievals). The scope of the symposium includes front-line research in basic plasma physics as well as significant advances in plasma technology.

Nuclear Fusion & Technology, Industrial Plasma Applications, Laser Plasma, Plasma Processing, Space & Astrophysical Plasma, Basic Plasma, Cross-disciplinary, Exotic Plasma (including Dusty Plasma), Plasma Diagnostics, Pulsed Power, Theory and Simulations in Plasma.
There are 12 sessions in total in the symposium, including nine oral sessions and three poster sessions. There are roughly 490 presentations total, including a keynote speech, a plenary talk, 16 invited talks, 27 oral presentations, the Buti Young Scientist Award, the PSSI’s Distinguished Award, and 440 poster presentations.
