Indian developer teases futuristic battle royale game: What to expect – Times of India

Indian video game developer SuperGaming has teased a new game which is in the early stages of development. The company has recently uploaded a trailer video of the game — Indus — on its YouTube account that reveals the first look of this “Indo-Futuristic battle royale title.” According to a report by IGN, Indus was first premiered by SuperGaming at New York’s Times Square during the Indian Independence Day celebration. The report adds that the game “prides on being a Made-in-India title.”

As per the report, the Pune-based SuperGaming has confirmed that the game will launch on mobile, PC and consoles. Some of the other games that were developed by the company include — MaskGun and Silly Royale. Now, the developer is “hoping to capture the attention of the battle royale community” by offering playtests that will also help it to assess the feedback from fans of the genre, the report suggests.

The game is expected to have a “massive” storyline and roster of weapons, the report claims and the developer is currently trying to fix it before releasing it on different platforms. SuperGaming is yet to reveal an official release date for the battle royale title, however, some community members recently got their chance to play the game a bit, the report states. The company has also published an official developer blog for more details about the game.

The YouTube trailer shows a futuristic setting based on Indian locations and references from Hindu mythology. For example, one of the characters had ears and a trunk like an elephant with some futuristic makeover. The report also mentions that “there are a ton of positives for players to look out for” while discussing the developer’s recently held Community Playtest event.

SuperGaming CEO, Roby John has explained that developers still have a long road to traverse before they can finally release it to the masses, the report adds. According to John, the development team can play the game “in-house regularly.” However, the company needs some more time before launching Indus to the public. He also added that SuperGaming is trying to put “India on the global gaming map.”
