Instagram has some bad news for iPad users – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Instagram is one of the most popular social networking platforms. But did you know that despite its popularity Instagram still lacks an iPad app? Now, the company has revealed that it has no plans to release an iPad app for Instagram anytime soon.
During a Q&A session, Instagram CEO, Adam Mosseri addressed the question about the absence of an iPad app for Instagram. A user asked Mosseri, “Where’s the Instagram iPad app?” Mosseri replied, “I spent a bit of time on an iPad because I was on a flight, but still no iPad app for Instagram. It would be nice to do, but there’s a lot to do and only so many people, so it hasn’t made the cut.”
This means that the iPad users are not going to get the Instagram app anytime soon.
It is also interesting to note that earlier this year, Instagram announced that users will be able to post on the social network from the web, but the iPad is still omitted from this. This means that users can post on Instagram from their PC or Mac, but not from their iPad.
However, with the coming of iPadOS 15, iPad users will be able to use the iPhone only app on the tablet in landscape mode.
Recently, Instagram replaced its Swipe up gesture in Stories with sticker links. According to a report by 9to5mac, Instagram has started to notify users that the swipe-up gesture to access links is going away and will be replaced by link stickers instead.
App researcher Jane Manchun Wong has also revealed that Instagram is getting rid of the swipe-up gesture. On the other hand, YouTuber Sam Sheffer has also shared a message received by some users on the Instagram app.
