Instagram reportedly down, users say DM page not loading – Times of India
The outage began around noon on Wednesday (January 11), as per Downdetector, the platform that provides users with real-time information about the status of various websites and services. At the time of writing this story, about 900 users in India reported issues in accessing Instagram.
Among those affected, 57% said they were facing issues with the app, 38% reported issues with a server connection, and another 6% of users had login issues. People from multiple cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Jaipur, and Lucknow, among other others have reported issues.
However, the outage has not affected everyone as The Times of India Tech-Gadgets Now spoke to some users who have not witnessed any kind of disruption in Instagram.

Instagram users have taken to Twitter turning the issue into a meme fest.
“Me overthinking that she left me on seen only to realise #instagram DMs are not working,” a user wrote.

Second Instagram disruption in three months
After WhatsApp’s two-hour-long global outage last week, another Meta-owned service, Instagram, went down for multiple users on October 31. Several users from India and other parts of the world reported multiple issues. Some users complained that their accounts were suspended during the outage, which lasted for about eight hours. The company said a bug caused the Instagram issue.
