iphone 13: Features in popular Android phones that you won’t find in iPhone 13 – Times of India
The iPhone 13 series has been announced and soon it will reach in the hands of millions of customers all over the world. While all the features will be known, once people get the phone, Apple did mention the key ones during the keynote at the event on September 14. As is always the case, there are some features that are found in Android phones but Apple has given them a miss. Here we list a few of them:
The always-on display
There were rumours that one of the biggest display features that could come with the iPhone 13 was the always-on display. However, Apple has given it a miss. The feature is found in popular Android phones from Samsung, Google, Xiaomi and others. The always-on display can show time, date among other things when the screen is idle.
An all-screen on notch-less display
The notch may be smaller — and taller — but it is still found in the iPhone 13. Samsung has been giving an all-screen display with a keyhole design. Google did the same with Pixel 5 and the OnePlus phones too have a similar display with OnePlus 9 series smartphones. There’s a good reason for Apple to give the notch as it houses the FaceID and other sensors. The quickness of FaceID compared to face unlock on other Android phones perhaps makes the notch ‘worth’ it for Apple and users.
Reverse wireless charging
The feature has been around for a while in Android phones. The back of the smartphone can be used to power up devices that support wireless charging. This could be a phone or wireless earbuds. Samsung has this feature as does Google. Apple has once again ignored the feature of the iPhone 13 series.
The lack of USB-Type C
Apple iPhone 13 series comes with a lightning port and not USB Type-C. A Type-C cable could have made it possible to charge other devices like a MacBook or an iPad Pro or Air. While every other Android phone comes with a Type-C port, Apple continues to give the lightning port.
