iphone 13 pro: Apple iPhone 13 Pro may not get this storage variant – Times of India

September is here and one of the most awaited smartphone unveils in the world, that of the iPhone 13 series, will happen this month, possibly on September 14. As per a report by GizmoChina, Apple may not offer the iPhone 13 Pro models in the 256GB storage variant, which could be true as in this way, the tech giant would force its loyal base to look for the higher model if they want to go for the higher storage. This has happened before with the iPhone 7 and with the recent Apple models. With the iPhone 7, Apple had offered the phone in 32GB and 128GB storage and skipped the 64GB storage option.
The report adds that the Cupertino-based tech giant will offer the iPhone 13 Pro in 128GB base storage option and skip directly to 512GB storage option. A 128GB base storage has kind of been embraced by many smartphone users as the ideal base storage which can be expanded further, but it is with Android phones only. But with an iPhone, you do not have that luxury. Hence, for more storage, people would usually prefer to go for the 256GB variant but if Apple removes it from the picture only, then they have only the 512GB option left if they wish to get an iPhone with a storage capacity greater than 128GB.
The report also claims that the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max models will get 1TB storage options.
Coming to the more affordable options, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini are expected to be offered in the base 64GB storage variant, 128GB storage variant and 256GB storage variant. To see what Apple has in mind, we’ll have to wait for the launch event.
