iPhone 15 leaks: Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max model to be named iPhone Ultra, says analyst Mark Gurman

The vast difference between standard and Pro models will help Apple attract more buyers to the higher-end handsets, increasing Pro models’ shipment allocation and boosting sales prices of the entire iPhone 15 lineup phones. Further, the analyst predicts that Apple would make more differentiation between the Pro models but didn’t reveal anything in depth.

Quoting Ming-Chi Kuo’s tweet, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman suggests Apple will change the naming scheme of the Pro Max model. The iPhone Pro Max variant will become Ultra. Apple recently launched its high-end smartwatch, Apple Watch Ultra, and Apple’s M-series chips also use a similar naming scheme: Pro, Max, and Ultra. So, we might witness an iPhone 15 Ultra model next year instead of the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Apple iPhone 15 series

The iPhone 15 series has made headlines in the past. So far, we have learned that iPhone 15 lineup phones will come with a 5x periscope camera and feature an under-display selfie camera with Face ID. Earlier this year, Kuo predicted that Apple could finally switch to the USB Type-C port on the iPhone 15 series instead of the Lightning port.

Besides iPhone 15 series upgrades, Kuo also has said that iPhone 15 lineup will hit production in India and China simultaneously, marking it the first time that the latest iPhone series will be manufactured simultaneously in another country outside China. If the prediction turns out true, that is.
