Apple iPhone users can now play WhatsApp voice messages and audio files outside of chats. WhatsApp has started to roll out a new update for the app on the iOS platform that brings the version up to 22.4.75. After installing the update, you can continue to listen to a voice message even when you leave that chat. Once you exit a chat after playing a voice message, you will be able to see an audio player at the top of the screen. The player will show the name of the user along with several options such a play/pause button and cancel button.
Until now, a voice message used to stop if you leave a particular chat and return to the chat list or open another chat. WhatsApp started to test this feature last month with beta testers. It is worth noting that the feature is only available for iOS users and it is still under development for Android users.
As per previous reports by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is also changing the way iPhone users receive notifications. The report reveals that iPhone users may soon be able to see profile images of senders along with the message notifications. According to the screenshot shared with the report, the new feature will allow you to see small photos of the sender in the notification when you receive a new message from an individual user or a Group.
9to5Mac claims that WhatsApp started to roll out this feature with version 22.2.75 but we are not able to see the feature in the app till now. As WhatsApp slowly rolls out features to different markets across the globe, it is expected that we may get our hands on the new notification feature soon.
