iPhone: FaceID and TouchID can now unlock Google Chrome incognito tabs: Report – Times of India

FaceID in iPhone and TouchID in iPad can now unlock the incognito tabs of Chrome, claims a report by PhoneArena. Google has not officially rolled out the feature yet, but its experimental phase is live now and the features can be tested on iPhones and iPads. The feature is meant to prevent others from snooping into your phones primarily.
As per the report, when the user tries to access this feature, this message crops up:
“Experiments91.0.4472.77WARNING: EXPERIMENTAL FEATURES AHEAD! By enabling these features, you could lose browser data or compromise your security or privacy. Enabled features apply to all users of this browser.”
The feature is reportedly said to work with the latest version of Google Chrome on the iOS/iPadOS device. To be able to test the feature out, first, make sure you have Chrome updated to the latest version. Then, you have to search for “chrome://flags” which will take you to the ‘Experiments’ page. Type “Device Authentication for Incognito” in the “Search flags” field. Now, change the status from ‘Default’ to ‘Enabled and then close Chrome. Then, you have to tap on ‘Enable Lock Incognito Tabs’ by going to Privacy in Settings. You will need to use FaceID or TouchID to unlock the incognito tabs every time you want to go to them after closing down Chrome. Could be tiresome, but hey, that’s Apple’s privacy standards for you. No matter how many times you log in, some security detail is going to ask for your credentials.
