iPhone users complain about poor battery life after iOS 16 update
As said, when an iPhone receives a software update it’s only common for it take a hit on the battery life as iOS is doing things in the background like reindexing files, photos, apps, and more. This is especially notable with Apple’s yearly flagship software release, iOS 16 because it is a massive update.
iOS 16 battery life
Even after two weeks of release, multiple customers are complaining about iOS 16 battery life. This is because iOS is doing things in the background like reindexing files, photos, apps, and more. But once all the background reindexing is complete, the battery life should be back to normal and complaints subside. However, this time around, the complaints have not subsided and many users are convinced that iOS 16 is ruining the battery life.
Users have been complaining on various social media platforms, including Reddit, TikTok, and Twitter. They have been complaining about their iPhone battery life taking a hit since installing iOS 16 two weeks ago. As usual, there are theories that Apple is intentionally reducing battery life on older iPhones to bring in more iPhone 14 sales.

Interestingly, Apple hasn’t commented on the battery life concerns on iOS 16. It has released iOS 16.0.2 to the public but there’s no mention of battery life improvements. iOS 16.1 is currently in the best testing phase. We’re hopeful that Apple might improve the battery with subsequent iOS 16 releases.
