iPhone users may get new health-tracking features, improved notifications

Last week, Apple officially announced that it will host its annual developer conference — WWDC — from June 6-10. As always, at WWDC, Apple unveils the latest versions of its various operating systems. So iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, and macOS 14 will be showcased by Apple and the features that they will bring. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple will bring “major upgrades” with iOS 16.
In his weekly newsletter, Gurman, who has an impressive track record regarding Apple leaks and news, said that even though Apple will not be bringing an “end-to-end redesign to iOS’ interface” it will be bringing “fairly significant enhancement across the board, including an update to notifications and new health-tracking features.”
It’s not clear what health-tracking features could come with iOS 16 to the iPhone. There have been rumours about AirPods getting certain health features and it’s possible that those features could come to iPhone as well. Rumour has it that Apple will launch the new AirPods Pro later this year which could bring some health-tracking features. Gurman also noted that with watchOS 9, Apple will bring new activity and health tracking features to Apple Watch as well.
As far as notifications are concerned, Apple did make changes to it with iOS 13 and then certain tweaks have been made with every major iOS update.
It’s still early days since the announcement of WWDC 2022 and closer to the date, there will be more clarity on what features will come with Apple’s latest software updates. WWDC 2022 will once again be an online event but Apple will invite some developers to attend the keynote in person. Along with its software updates, Apple may launch new Mac devices at WWDC 2022 as well, as per some rumours.
