Yes, the Google Pixel 6a is launching in India. Google India confirmed that the affordable Pixel smartphone will be coming to the country via a tweet. The company is yet to reveal the Pixel 6a launch date in India, but we are happy to know that the device is coming.
How much will Google Pixel 6a cost in India?
The Google Pixel 6a carries a price tag of USD 449 in the US, which comes to approximately Rs 35,000. To recall, the Pixel 4a was launched in India for Rs 31,999 (with an introductory price of Rs 29,999). We expect the Pixel 6a to cost a little higher at Rs 34,999 when it comes to India. There’s a good chance the phone could be priced at Rs 39,999 as well, although we hope that doesn’t happen.
The Pixel 6a will go on sale in the US from July 28th. It is unclear when the company plans to bring the device to India.
Google Pixel 6a specifications, features
The Google Pixel 6a features a 6.1-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. That’s right, the phone does not get a high refresh rate display, which might be a bummer for some fans. The affordable Pixel smartphone is powered by the same Tensor chip as the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
The Pixel 6a’s Tensor chipset is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB. The smartphone will ship with Android 12 in the US but will get upgraded to Android 13 soon enough. In India, the Pixel 6a could arrive with Android 13 out of the box. We will have to wait and see.
In the camera department, the Pixel 6a comes equipped with a 12.2MP primary camera and a 12MP wide-angle lens. An 8MP front-facing camera takes care of selfies and video calls.
The Pixel 6a houses a modest 4,306mAh battery and the device supports fast charging, though the exact charging speed is not known yet. Other features include 5G support, Titan M2 security chip, USB Type-C port, and more.
