Is Ring doorbell app down right now? Service and camera status latest

Hundreds of Ring users have reported issues with the popular video doorball app service today. Independent outage monitor Down Detector and Down Detector UK have both reported spikes in Ring down reports. At the time of writing Down Detector UK has registered a peak of more than 400 Ring down reports with downdetector.com recording a high of almost 500.

According to Down Detector stats, the main issue Ring users are experiencing is with the accompanying Android or iOS app.

While both the Ring Twitter and Ring Status accounts have confirmed a number of issues with the service recently.

The Ring UK Twitter posted: “We are aware of a service interruption impacting Rich Notifications for battery powered Ring devices. Our team is working to resolve the issue to restore the service as soon as possible.”

While the Ring Status website says there are “multiple” system failures, but this affects users on the US east coast.

The Ring Status website also says there has been a partial outage with Ring Protect (Video Recording) as well as a partial outage with account emails.

The iOS and Android apps for Ring are both experiencing a degraded performance as well, according to the Ring Status service.

As the reported Ring app issues hit users took to Twitter to report the problems they were facing.

One tweeted: “I’m currently on vacation and i feel very vulnerable while the ring app is down! I hope the ring company can get the app up soon.”

While another posted: “@ring Looks like the app is down. “Connection error could not load your location”.

One added: “@ring it seems like you have an outage going on in UK – I also can’t login or access devices or access the dashboard on the app or website”.

And another wrote: “@ring I am totally unable to access my app so cannot disarm the alarm and should have left my house already! Still waiting on someone to pick up the phone. Any help??”

Express.co.uk has contacted Ring for comment about the reported app issues users are experiencing today.
