Jio True 5G comes to Tamil Nadu: 5G services launched in six major cities

Reliance Jio has expanded its 5G services to Tamil Nadu. The Mukesh Ambani-led telecom giant has now launched Jio True 5G services in six key cities of Tamil Nadu, which include — Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Salem, Hosur and Vellore. With this launch, Jio True 5G services are now available in 101 cities across the nation and the company was able to achieve this feat in just 100 days. Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Information Technology & Digital Services, Thiru T. Mano Thangara launched Jio’s True 5G services in Coimbatore today (January 11).

Jio showcased the benefits of 5G in the field of healthcare, through Jio Community Clinic medical kit and its AR-VR device, Jio Glass at the launch event. The company claims that these benefits are set to bring significant changes in the lives of people in Tamil Nadu.
How will Jio True 5G help Tamil Nadu
During the launch, Thangaraj said: 5G services in the long run will bring transformational benefits to the people of Tamil Nadu. The state government has a special focus on the start-up ecosystem and the advent of 5G services in the state will give a great boost to the start-ups. These startups deal in new technologies including — IoT, Blockchain, AI, Machine Learning & Data Analytics.

Jio’s spokesperson also commented at the launch event by saying that Jio’s True 5G network will be present across the length and breadth of Tamil Nadu. Every village and town in the state is set to have Jio’s True 5G services by the end of December 2023.
With the launch of Jio’s True 5G services, Tamil Nadu will be open to new growth opportunities in the areas of e-governance, healthcare, education, IT and the SME business. Jio True 5G will even allow citizens and the government to remain connected on a real-time basis and will assist the rapid reach of government schemes to all users.
