Kia EV6 India launch date revealed: expected price, design and specifications, booking details

The Kia EV6 will be the Korean automaker’s first bet in the Indian EV space. Kia currently sells ICE models in the sub-compact, compact and MPV segments in India. Hyundai, Kia’s sister company, already sells the Hyundai Kona EV and will soon bring the Hyundai IONIQ 5 EV which will be based on the EV6 platform.

Kia EV6 design, specifications

The Kia EV6 comes in two battery packs, a 58kWh unit and a 77.4kWh unit, globally. Leaks suggest that the latter model with the 77.4kWh battery pack would be sold in India. On the exterior, the Kia EV6 will get LED headlamps, a grille positioned above an air dam, 19-inch alloy wheels and LED tail lights. A light bar running the length of the boot accentuates the appearance along with a dual-tone rear bumper.

On the inside, the Kia EV6 may have two 12.3-inch screens, paddle shifters, an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, different drive modes, climate control and electric parking brake with auto-hold function.

The cars that were recently spotted at the Korean brand’s facility demoed the possible colour options that would be made available at launch. The Kia EV6 was spotted sporting Red, White, and Silver colourways. The cars that were spied on were fresh off the production line and had protective films on them.

Kia EV6 price in India (expected)

The Kia EV6 is expected to come via the CBU route and is expected to be priced in the premium segment. The EV6 could sport a price tag of around Rs 50-60 lakh (ex-showroom). A detailed look at the Kia EV6 can be found here.
