Kolkata boy Shlok Mukherjee wins Doodle for Google: Here’s the doodle that celebrates India’s scientific advancement – Times of India

Doodle for Google competition 2022 results are out. The year’s National Winner of the India Doodle for Google contest is Shlok Mukherjee from Delhi Public School in NewTown, Kolkata, West Bengal. Titled ‘India on the center stage’, the theme of Shlok’s doodle was the country’s scientific advancements to take center stage. Talking about his doodle, Shlok said, “In the next 25 years, my India will have scientists develop their own eco-friendly robot for humanity’s betterment. India will have regular intergalactical travels from Earth to space. India will develop more in the field of Yoga and Ayurveda, and will get stronger in coming years.”
According to Google, this year’s contest received over 115,000 entries from children in classes 1 to 10 from over 100 cities across India. The 20 finalists were picked from across the nation, evaluating entries on the criteria of artistic merit, creativity, alignment with the contest theme, and uniqueness and novelty of approach. The topic of the Google doodle for this year was: ‘In the next 25 years, my India will…’.
This year’s panel of judges consisted of Neena Gupta, national awardee, actor, filmmaker, producer and TV personality; Kuriakose Vaisian, comic book editor, filmmaker, and stand-up comic; social influencers and founders of Slayypoint, Abhyudaya Mohan and Gautami Kawale; and Alika Bhatt, artist, teacher, YouTuber, Tedx speaker, and entrepreneur. “We were amazed by the creativity and imagination students brought to their entries, and were especially heartened that the advancement of technology and sustainability emerge as common themes across many of the Doodles,” the company said in a statement.
What will the winner get
Shlok’s Doodle will be featured on Google.co.in for the 24 hours of November 14th, 2022. In addition, the National Winner will also receive Rs 500,000 college scholarship, Rs 200,000 technology package for their school or non-profit organization, a Certificate or Trophy of achievement, Google hardware devices or allied products (subject to availability), and fun Google collectibles. The 20 finalist Doodles were showcased online for public voting. In addition to the national winner, 4 group winners were also selected.
