Koo loyalty programme: Here’s how users can get rewards by using the app – Times of India

Koo, the Indian multilingual microblogging platform, has announced that it became the first social platform to reward its users daily through its loyalty program. Users can earn coins and redeem them to purchase items and services at discounted prices.

Those who use Koo can now earn Koo coins every day, based on the engagement they show on the app. Koo coins can also be earned by referring the app to family and friends. These coins can then be redeemed for special offers from brands. As per Koo, millions of users are already taking part in it and “getting value in addition to being on a social platform and learning about what’s happening around them.”
“We believe that everyone that makes this platform what it is should benefit from it. We help users earn coins through our Koo coins loyalty program for app engagement and referring other users. These coins can then be exchanged for special offers from businesses that gain from new users and usage. This ensures that everyone wins. Creators get access to more users, users get special offers and businesses get access to a large new user base,” said Aprameya Radhakrishna, CEO and co-founder, Koo.

Koo coins programme still in beta
Koo says it started the Koo coins programme as an experiment in July 2022. Over the months it structured the programme so that it rewards users every day for engaging on the app consistently. The programme is currently in its beta in India and it will be rolled out across the world in all languages soon.
“Never before have social platforms rewarded the entire ecosystem in such an inclusive way. We are proud to lead the way here and know that many will learn from our success and follow suit,” Radhakrishna.

How we can use Koo coins
The programme is similar to the ones running on different payment apps, including Google Pay, and Cred, among others. Google Pay also offers rewards when you make payments from the app. Cred’s model is somewhat different. Instead of offering rewards, it offers you Cred coins that can be used to make discounted purchases – using Cred coins – from the available options.
Similarly, once you have some number of Koo coins, you can choose from available rewards, which may include a discount on purchasing food from Domino’s, off on purchasing electronics from Croma, and even a discount on services such as Times Prime. These discounts can be availed by exchanging a specific number of coins that users have earned by using Koo app.
