Koo, the Indian Twitter alternative is introducing a ‘migrate’ feature that lets you transfer all your tweets from Twitter to Koo. With this new feature, Koo co-founder and CEO Aprameya Radhakrishna aim to help you to escape “intellectual assassination” caused by account suspensions on Twitter at the whims and fancies of Elon Musk.
New Koo feature: Tweet migration tool
Go to Koo settings, there is a migrate button. Click on it and follow the on-screen instructions and all your tweets will be moved to Koo.
Note that replies, likes and reshares are not migrated.
Well, it’s not just tweets but also all accounts followed by the migrating user will also be transferred, provided they are available on Koo, to begin with.
Speaking on the Elon-Twitter situation to Press Trust of India (via Yourstory), Mr Radhakrishna says, “it is unimaginable that in this day and age, one man has the ability to wipe out your digital existence and remove all traces of your creativity. History and creativity cannot be held hostage to a $44 billion, billionaire’s toy”.
“Koo provides everyone with an equal opportunity to express themselves in a language of choice and preserve their thoughts and opinions for all times to come. So go ahead, escape Twitter and engage in a platform that truly sets you free,” he adds.
Meanwhile, Mayank Bidawatka has also shared his concern over the way Twitter is being run currently.
How does this make sense? Aren’t journalists the biggest source of reliable information around the world?
Journalists need to be treated with the respect they deserve. At Koo we have a special carousel highlighting journalists and media outlets! pic.twitter.com/G8tUNC3deL
