Last minute Huawei P50 Pro leak teases a beefy quad camera system
TL;DR
- Purported details of the Huawei P50 Pro 4G model have leaked.
- The phone will seemingly pack the Kirin 9000 SoC, a quad rear camera array, and 50W wireless charging.
- Huawei is set to launch the P50 series in China on July 29.
The Huawei P50 series will see an official launch in China tomorrow. But before the event kicks off, a new leak has seemingly revealed the 4G Pro model’s extensive specs sheet.
Details garnered by MySmartPrice from tipster Ishan Agarwal have left very little to the imagination. Notably, the Huawei P50 Pro is set to be the middle child in the P50 series roster, placing above the standard P50 but below the P50 Pro Plus.
The phone could be pretty pocketable, too, with dimensions of 158.8mm x 72.8mm x 8.5mm. That body will reportedly include an IP68 rating, stereo speakers, and a USB-C port. Slotting into this shell is a 6.6-inch OLED with a 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, high-frequency PWM dimming, and a resolution of 2,700 x 1,228. That should give the phone a pixel density of around 450 PPI.
Huawei P50 Pro 4G camera specs
Earlier leaked renders suggest the Huawei P50 Pro will feature a centrally mounted camera cutout with a 13MP snapper. There’s no word on the IR sensor that powered the facial unlock tech on the P40 Pro.
Tipped rear camera specs include a 50MP main shooter with f/1.8 aperture and OIS, a 40MP ToF sensor, and a 13MP ultra-wide camera. A fourth camera will also feature packing a 64MP sensor with a 3.5x optical zoom lens. Apparently, this shooter also packs OIS and is good for 100x digital zoom. Overall, the P50 Pro’s camera offering sounds like a pretty impressive package on paper.
Our verdict: Huawei P40 Pro review: Refinement done right
But what about the phone’s horsepower? Internally, the 4G Huawei P50 Pro apparently uses the HiSilicon Kirin 9000 SoC mated to 8GB of RAM with either 256GB or 512GB of storage. The phone can also use Huawei’s NM expansion cards.
Finally, power is reportedly provided by a 4,360mAh battery. Although the P50 Pro will seemingly see a slight increase in battery capacity over the P40 Pro, it might be challenged by the screen’s higher refresh rate. Either way, top-ups should be a lot faster. The P50 Pro will seemingly support 66W wired and 50W wireless charging speeds.
Expect Huawei to detail all three of its P50 series devices in greater detail at tomorrow’s launch. Until then, let us know what you think of the rumored Huawei P50 Pro specs in the comments below.
