Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has revealed that his 3 year-old daughter named August has already started to learn coding. Zuckerberg on Facebook posted a photo of his daughter August playing around with Kano–a coding platform for kids– on his Apple MacBook Pro. His daughter will turn 4 in August.
For those unaware, Kano sells ‘coding kits’ to help anyone to create their own computers and code it even. The content is gamified to help kids have fun while using these kits and at the same time learn to code as well.
Zuckerberg said that he started with Kano’s Harry Potter magic wand kit and then his daughter got into the web coding tools. However, he said the biggest challenge for him was to be patient while his daughter took one minute to type a word.

“I just want to say that teaching a kid to type is one of the greatest tests of patience I have ever experienced. August types at literally 1-2wpm (words per minute). And when she gets a few letters into a word and then makes a mistake and accidentally presses delete three times instead of once and then has to retype the whole word, I feel like I’m just going to lose it,” shared Zuckerberg.
There are plenty of platforms out there which teach kids to learn coding from an early age.
