Mediatek to launch Dimensity 8200 chipset on December 8 in China – Times of India

Chinese chipmaker MediaTek was scheduled to launch a new mid-range chipset — the Dimensity 8200 on December 1. However, this had to be postponed and the company has confirmed the new launch date of the upcoming processor. According to a teaser shared by MediaTek on its official Weibo account (spotted by GizmoChina), the company is set to launch the successor to Dimensity 8200 chipset tomorrow (December 8). This new chipset will succeed the Dimensity 8100 processor that powers this year’s Redmi K50i 5G smartphone. Vivo’s sub-brand iQoo has also scheduled the launch of two new smartphone lineups on the same date — the iQoo Neo7 SE and the iQoo 11 series. The iQoo Neo 7 SE handset will be the first phone to feature the latest SoC which is also expected to be more focused on energy efficiency.
MediaTek Dimensity 8200 processor: Expected features
Apart from the launch date, MediaTek hasn’t shared any other details about the upcoming processor. Rumours suggest that the Dimensity 8200 SoC will arrive with four Cortex-A78 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores.
The new chipset is expected to include one A78 core clocked at 3.1GHz and three A78 cores at 3.0GHz. Meanwhile, the mobile platform is also likely to feature four efficient A55 cores that will be clocked at 2.0GHz. MediaTek’s Dimensity 8200 chip may also retain the Mali-G610 MC6 graphics unit which is also available in its predecessor.

iQoo Neo 7 SE: Expected specs
As mentioned above, iQoo’s Neo 7 SE smartphone might be the first smartphone to be announced with the new Dimensity 8200 mobile platform. The smartphone is also expected to sport a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that will support a 120Hz refresh rate and a Full HD+ resolution.
For photos, the smartphone is likely to house a triple rear camera setup that will include — a 64MP main camera with OIS, a 2MP macro unit, and a 2MP depth assist lens. iQoo Neo 7 SE is also expected to pack a 5000mAh battery unit that may support 120W fast charging and may run on OriginOS 3 based on Android 13 OS out-of-the-box.
