Meet some of the winners of Apple’s best apps and games awards of 2021 – Times of India

Balint Grosz, CEO, Founder at Craft, understood the importance of having a simple and easy-to-use collaborative app for MacBook users. Grosz worked at an MNC for a couple of years and was rather at odds with how colleagues used to collaborate. He built Craft, an app for creating documents, notes with a dash of fun and loads of creativity. Craft has won the Mac App of the year in 2021. “We launched in November last year and since then have over 300,000+ plus members,” Grosz told The Times of India-GadgetsNow. Craft is used by photographers, educators, architects, interior designers and others as it makes collaboration easy and sharing documents and notes simple.

While Craft may be the new kid on the block, League of Legends certainly needs no introduction. It has had over 600 million players and is one of the most popular game franchises of all time. League of Legends: Wild Rift was named one of the best games of 2021 by Apple. Michael Chow, executive producer, Riot Games, and one of the men behind the award-winning game says that the idea has always been to make the game bigger and better with each iteration. While developing Wild Rift, there were many challenges in bringing the game to the mobile platform.

Chow says that he is excited about the future of mobile gaming in India and knows that there is a huge audience waiting to be tapped. He also spoke about how the conventional wisdom of mobile games shouldn’t have too many buttons is something they have broken. Traditionally, most mobile games don’t have too many buttons but Chow says that this game had 32 buttons and it did sound “crazy” but ultimately worked out well.
Like League of Legends, Myst is another game that has stood the test of time in the real sense. Rand Miller, CEO, Cyan Worlds, the developers of Myst, says that being the Mac Game of the year is “great” and doesn’t believe the notion of Apple’s laptops not being ‘gamer’ friendly. “I have been using it since the first Macintosh came out in 1984”, and says that being an indie game developer helps them to experiment a lot and that works with the gamers. Myst has been around for a while and has been one of the most popular PC games of all time. Miller says that the latest version of Myst is something he and his company are quite proud of and the Apple award is the icing on the cake.
