Zuckerberg unveiled the headset and took a dig at Apple for its metaverse plans.
Mark Zuckerberg loses 119 million followers
Reports suggest that Meta founder and CEO Zuckerberg has lost over 119 million followers bringing his follower count to below 10,000. Several people took to social media platforms to complain that they have lost a sizeable chunk of their followers.
What Facebook said
A Meta spokesperson said that the company is aware of the problem of inconsistent follower count. “We’re aware that some people are seeing inconsistent follower count on their Facebook profiles. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and we apologise for any inconvenience.”
The reasons for the follower count loss is unknown, some claim that it could be due to a bug. Meta has acknowledged the problem, however, the social media giant hasn’t confirmed that a bug has caused this behaviour.

Reports from rumour mill suggest that Zuckerberg’s account was hacked, however, when we checked, we could see his account on both web and app. While some suggest that Meta had acted against bot accounts, others say this could be due to a cyber attack.
The Facebook-parent company recently issued a security warning to around one million users saying that their login credentials may have been stolen by scam apps present on both Google Play store and App Store.
The company’s security researchers claimed to have identified more than 400 scammy apps, some of them masquerading as “fun or useful apps”, designed to hijack users’ Facebook account details. These include photo editors, camera apps, VPN services, horoscope apps, and fitness tracking tools.
