Microsoft Edge is now available for Linux

After testing its Chromium-based Edge web browser for over a year, Microsoft has finally launched the stable version of the browser.
The Edge web browser is now fully supported on Linux operating system and will also receive regular updates via the stable channel.
The installer for Edge Linux version is now available for users to download via the company’s official website and in case you are already running the Preview build of it, simply run the sudo apt install microsoft-edge-stable command line.
The Linux version will be compatible with major distributions and the company is offering both .deb and .rpm installers of the Edge browser.
When it comes to features, the Linux version of the browser features a more or less similar set of features as its Windows and macOS counterparts. The most important among them is the enhanced privacy and security features that the browser offers. Apart from that, the browser also comes with some basic features like vertical tabs, collection, dedicated battery saver mode and more.
Chrome is currently the most popular web browser among users and most sites are optimised to run on the chromium engine underneath the browser, Edge being based on Chromium engine, has an advantage.
For those unaware, the web browser has received a new Edge 96 beta update. The update brings improvements to PDF scrolling, PWA apps and more. The PWA apps now feel more native and integrated with added support for protocol links.
