Microsoft Edge’s new update brings this ‘important’ image too: What is it, how it works and more – Times of India

Microsoft has started rolling out a new update for its Chromium-based web browser that brings several new features, changes and improvements to the browser. Among other new features, one that grabbed our attention is the new image editing feature. This means that the web browser now has a built-in image editing tool that allows users to edit, crop, and make adjustments to an image from the web.
What is this image feature and what does it offer
The image feature in question here is the ability to Edit images from the web browser. It allows users to edit an image from the web directly. It offers options like crop, filtres, and markup and makes necessary adjustments like brightness, contrast, saturation, etc.
How it works
Edge’s built-in image editor works on most of the images found on the website. As a part of it, users will see a new hamburger menu at the top right corner of the image. Clicking on it brings up a new sub-menu which includes the Edit image option.
Clicking on the Edit image button opens up a new image editor window which includes necessary editing tools.
How to edit an image using Edge’s image editor
To edit an image, all users need to do is hover over the image and then click on the hamburger icon at the top right corner. Choose Edit image option and once the image editor opens, start making the necessary changes.
Here is the list of tools available and what they do:
Crop: The first option it offers is Crop. This allows users to crop and image as per necessity.
Adjustments: Let users make changes to image parameters like Brightness, Saturation, Exposure, Contrast, Highlights, Shadows, Vignette, Colour and more.
Filtres: The editing tool also has a handful of pre-set filtres which can be selected just by clicking on them.
Mark-up: The mark-up tool let users add annotations and highlight or write something on the image. Users have the option to use a mouse or trackpad, but the feature also works with s stylus and touch screen.
How to get the feature
As mentioned, the feature is rolling out a part of the latest Microsoft Edge update. Simply install the latest version of the web browser to get the feature.
