Microsoft introduces new widgets for Windows 11: What are they

Microsoft has announced two new widgets for its Windows 11 operating system. These widgets are for the Spotify and Phone Link apps. The software giant has updated its blog post to announce the widgets. These widgets have not been made available for the end users yet. Currently, the Spotify and Phone Link widgets for Windows 11 are available only in the latest ‘Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25290’ on the Dev Channel.
How to access these widgets
According to Microsoft’s blog post, Insiders who are a part of the Dev Channel can access these widgets in the widgets collection section available in the Microsoft Store. However, Insiders need to update the apps to their latest versions to access these widgets.
Insiders have to open the widgets board and navigate to the widgets picker. Here they can click on the plus button at the top-right of the board to pin the widgets.

Microsoft allows developers to create widgets
The company has also released the ‘Windows App SDK 1.2’. This platform can be used by developers to create widgets for their apps. Microsoft even mentioned that users can “access these experiences on their Windows 11 widgets board in current Dev Channel Insider Preview builds.”
Last month, the company also released a new Windows 11 preview build for Insiders in the Dev Channel. This preview build included an updated version of Task Manager that arrived with a new feature for troubleshooters, developers and others.

Microsoft Teams Rooms to be updated on Windows

The company claims that these improvements will make Teams Rooms easier to use. These changes will align key elements of the user interface across the Windows and Android ecosystems.
