Microsoft: Microsoft may soon bring ChatGPT-like AI in these apps – Times of India

Microsoft recently launched and opened the limited preview of its ‘new’ Bing that is powered by an ‘upgraded’ ChatGPT language model, called Prometheus Model. Now a report has suggested that the Windows-maker is gearing up to demo other AI-powered products, including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Citing sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans, The Verge reports that the company is planning an event in March and could detail its productivity plans for integrating OpenAI’s language AI technology in search and its productivity apps.
As per a report by The Information, GPT models have been tested in Outlook to improve search results. The testing included suggesting replies to emails and Word document integration to improve a users’ writing. Microsoft is also working on ways to generate graphs and graphics for PowerPoint, sources were cited as saying.
Nadella keen on becoming leader in AI
The report by The Verge also says that Microsoft is moving quickly with development of its AI-powered apps because of Google. Furthermore, company CEO Satya Nadella is keen on being a leader in AI, and counter any response from rival Google.
At the launch of AI-powered Bing earlier this week, Nadella said that AI is going to reshape the largest software category on planet Earth, Search.

“I think there are going to be things that we are going to have everywhere we go, all computer interaction is going to be mediated with an agent helping you. In fact, we are going to have this notion of a copilot that’s going to be there across every application canvas,” Nadella said
It is also reported that not only Nadella but a number of Microsoft executives think they are ahead of Google when it comes to the ‘new’ Bing AI. And they should be because the search engine got so popular that more than 1 million people signed up for the Bing waitlist in 48 hours.
