microsoft: Microsoft may soon roll out a new Outlook app for these Windows users – Times of India

Microsoft is on a spree when it comes to revamping its native app according to Windows 11. Since the launch of the new operating system, the tech giant has refreshed most of its native apps such as Notepad, Paint, Media Player, Your Phone and others, with new design and features. Now the company is also reportedly planning to roll out a new Outlook app for Windows 10 and Windows 11. As per a report by WindowsLatest, the company may release the public preview of the new Outlook app during Microsoft’s hybrid event for Windows 11.
The report further reveals that codenamed ‘Project Monarch’ is aimed at building a cross-platform email app for users and it is under development for more than a year. As per the report, Microsoft may promote the new app as a reboot of the Mail & Calendar app. Currently Windows 10 and Windows 11 come with a pre-installed Mail & Calendar app based on Universal Windows Platform (UWP). The app follows a Windows 10 style user interface and has its limitations. That’s why most of the users prefer using the Outlook desktop app or web app.
Microsoft will reportedly add new Smart Clipboard and Smart Actions features with the upcoming Windows 11 update. As per a report, the tech giant will introduce a support for the new features with Windows 11 version 22H2 or Sun Valley 2. The features are said to offer a new way to paste content between the apps.
According to the report, both the features may be bundled together. As of now, there are not much details available about the feature yet but it may show suggested actions that you can take with the item in the clipboard. For example, if you have copied a mobile number, the feature may show you a suggestion to make a call from Skype or Microsoft Teams.
