microsoft: Microsoft to reportedly start work on Windows 12 next month – Times of India

A few months ago, Microsoft rolled out its Windows 11 operating system for the public. Now, the tech giant will reportedly start working on the successor of Windows 11 soon. As per a report by German website Deskmodder.de, the Windows 12 will be the successor to the Windows 11. The report also suggests that Microsoft will begin work on the new operating system in March.
The report claims that Microsoft has already been looking for employees who would then provide additional support to the team. The report further suggests that although the company will shortly begin work on the alleged Windows 12, we may not see it anytime soon as Microsoft is planning to build the new OS from scratch. As per Deskmodder.dem, the company will completely abandon the Windows 10 substructure. As of now, Microsoft has not shared any details or plans about Windows 11 successor.
For those who do not know, Windows 11 is built on the same foundation as the Windows 10 and it is designed to work efficiently on both touchscreen and non-touchscreen devices. It is also compatible with most of the devices that support Windows 10. The new OS adds a refreshed look and more apps to your devices. On Windows 11, The taskbar looks similar to the one seen on Mac and the context menus, popups and windows have rounded corners.
With the recent update, the company has also started to roll out the redesigned native apps for Windows 11. The new design of the apps were first teased by the company when the new operating system was unveiled last year. While several features that were announced by Microsoft were available to the public with the official OS release, a few features that were left are finally rolling out with updates. In the past couple of weeks, the company has expanded the redesigned Photos app, Notepad and Media Player to more users.
