Microsoft PowerPoint app for iOS is getting portrait mode

Microsoft has started testing portrait mode on iOS with Office Insider users. The stable version of the app currently allows users to view the slides in landscape mode only. However, Insider users can now view, edit and create slides in both portrait and landscape modes.
The company has announced the new portrait mode for PowerPoint app via an official Insider blog post and has also shared some screenshots of how it will look on iOS devices. It is important to note that the new portrait mode for PowerPoint app is currently being tested with Office Insider users. However, it is likely that not all Office Insiders will see this option as it is currently available for a select number of users. Also, the feature is rolling out with the app version 2.68 of build 22112003.
“With a shift towards mobile-first content creation, we have heard from many of you that you prefer to do so in Portrait mode. Based on your feedback, we have added the capability to switch [in] and out of Portrait mode when both creating and editing slides!”, reads the blog post.
As per the blog post, the portrait mode will be available for both iPad and iPhone. The company has also highlighted the steps on how to use portrait mode for PowerPoint:
To use portrait mode on iPhones and iPads, users will either need to open an existing presentation or create a new one. Then tap on the Design tab and choose Orientation. Under the Orientation tab, users will find the option ‘Portrait’.
Once Portrait mode is selected, the slides will change to Portrait mode.
