Microsoft Surface Neo makes an appearance in Red Notice – Times of India

Microsoft Surface Neo is once again making headlines for making a cameo appearance in The Rock, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds starrer, Red Notice. The movie was released on November 5, 2021. However, it was under development from 2019, the same year Microsoft showcased its dual-screen laptop device, Surface Neo alongside the Surface Duo.
This is the second time Surface Neo has made a cameo appearance in a movie or TV show after WandaVision.
Those who aren’t aware, Microsoft was earlier expected to launch the device by the end of 2020. However, it got indefinitely delayed. The Surface Neo surfacing in a recently released movie doesn’t mean that the company is prepping up again for the release. It’s just due to the fact that movie production started back in 2019 and released in 2021.
It is possible that Microsoft may have made deals with movie makers for the placement of Surface Neo as a way to promote its upcoming device around the official launch. This means it is most likely that there’s any development in regards to the Surface Neo launch from the company’s end.
The whole deal about the multiple cameos of the indefinitely cancelled Surface device is that the shoot began before Covid-19 hit and before Microsoft decided to put an axe on the device.
As of now, there’s nothing specifically announced by the company and we assume that even if Microsoft plans to launch the Surface Neo in future, the company will most likely introduce a new processor and bring new features as well to the devices along with an updated operating system based on Windows 11.
