We highly recommend setting up IE mode in Microsoft Edge and disabling IE11 prior to this date to ensure your organisation doesn’t experience business disruption.” reads the warning
The Internet Explorer 11 desktop application will be disabled on 14 February 2023 on Windows 10 and earlier versions of the operating system, with the Windows security update released on the same date. This will be the second phase of Microsoft’s plan for the retirement of Internet Explorer, which began June 15 this year.
Microsoft advises individual users and organisations to disable Internet Explorer before the update arrives and switch to Edge browser. Users can also enable the IE mode on Edge, allowing users to open websites that can only be opened in Internet Explorer.
Earlier this year, Microsoft pulled the plug on Internet Explorer after 27 long years. The browser was first introduced in 1995 as an add-on package for Windows 95, and later it was made available to everyone.
