Microsoft Xbox event on January 25: What to expect and other details

Microsoft is reportedly hosting an event on January 25 and it may provide information on this year’s lineup of Xbox games, including Redfall and Starfield. It is possible that the date of the event may change.
What is the Microsoft Xbox event about?
Citing “a variety of sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans”, Windows Central reports that Microsoft is calling the event Developer_Direct and it may be part of a new initiative from Microsoft and Xbox aimed at offering information on upcoming games, outside of the major E3 and Game Awards events.

Microsoft Developer_Direct is reportedly slated for January 25 at 12 pm PT (1.30 am IST on January 26) on Xbox’s official channels on Twitch and YouTube. It is also expected that the show will be hosted by both Xbox and Bethesda and they will showcase “deep dives into Redfall, Minecraft Legends, Forza Motorsport, and content from ZeniMax Online Studios.”
Microsoft Xbox game line-up for 2023
Several game publishers and developers have announced the name of games they will be launching in 2023 on Xbox consoles, Game Pass and Game Pass for PCs. These games include One Piece: Odyssey, Dead Space, Deliver Us Mars, Hogwarts Legacy, Atomic Heart, Skull and Bones, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Street Fighter 6, Diablo IV, Redfall, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, Starfield, Forza Motorsport, and Star Wars: Eclipse, among others.

Microsoft-Activision Blizzard deal
Microsoft-Activision Blizzard deal, worth $68.7 billion, is under scrutiny in multiple countries. Regulators are probing a claim by competitors, especially Sony, that the purchase would allow the Redmond-based tech giant to suppress competition to its Xbox consoles and “rapidly growing’ subscription-based cloud-gaming business.
Microsoft, however, has offered multi-year deals to Nintendo and Sony. Sony rejected a 3-year deal and is yet to respond to a 10-year offer from the Windows maker.
