MIUI 14 screenshots have been leaked and have given a glimpse of what to expect from Xiaomi’s next big software update. According to a report by GSMArena (via Chinese publication Mydrivers), the upcoming version of MIUI 14 will be based on Android 13. MIUI 14 is reportedly still under development but the leaked screenshots have revealed certain elements and features.
Gallery app expected to get a text recognition feature
The screenshots hint at the Gallery app gaining a text recognition feature that allows users to copy the text from the snapped documents. The update also features an “On this day” feature that shows the old shot photographs from a year ago or so.
Bluetooth LE Audio
The screenshots have also depicted that MIUI 14 will also support Bluetooth LE Audio which comes as the next evolution of wireless audio. It also brings a new high-quality codec and additional support for Auracast– where a single device can act as an FM radio station and multiple headphones can be connected and listened to. With the help of the Multi-Stream feature, users will be able to share audio with both TWS earbuds simultaneously (currently the TWS earbuds contain a main bud which then connects to the secondary bud)
Improved Anti-fraud protection
The new MIUI 14 will also feature improved Anti-fraud protection, which will track suspicious calls, messages and apps.
The upcoming version will also help users to declutter notifications from their Xiaomi smartphones. It also brings a reworked Assistant interface. The UI of the clock app too has been redesigned.
As per the report, there will be no immediate version of MIUI this year just like the MIUI 12.5 version from the previous year. Xiaomi is all set to take a leap from v13 to MIUI 14.
