mortal kombat: Mortal Kombat 12 leaked by game studio: Report

NetherRealm Studios seems to have teased the next installment in the Mortal Kombat series, called Mortal Kombat 12, as per a report by playstationlifestyle.net. The leak was made evident when senior production manager Jonathan Andersen posted a tweet showing some artwork lying at his desk, and could be a staged one as a small portion of the desktop is visible in the picture which shows the name of the title. The tweet was deleted but the image was captured by resetera.com. To spot the name, check the desktop portion in the top right of the image.

“As soon as fans realized that Andersen’s photo was staged, he liked a tweet that suggested this wasn’t a tease, rather a joke aimed towards eager Mortal Kombat fans.” says the report by playstationlifestyle.net.
With the leak, it could be expected that NetherRealm plans to release the game this year or early next year. However, we will have to wait for some more information to emerge. There is one other franchise which fans, especially DC ones, would be interested in: Injustice. The artwork on the desk also shows some character designs of DC characters like Wonder Woman and Brainiac. Warner Bros. had earlier denied the reports that it is looking to remove NetherRealm from development duty on the Injustice games. Also doing the rounds were rumours that the video game studio could be prioritizing Mortal Kombat 12 over Injustice 3. So, could NetherRealm make two big game announcements with Mortal Kombat 12 and Injustice 3 or just one? Only the future will reveal.
