Motorola phone with Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen1 and 200MP camera confirmed to launch in July

Motorola Frontier’s launch date hasn’t been revealed yet but it will arrive in China in July and should probably be expanded to other markets, including India and Europe later this year. The handset may debut alongside the Moto Razr 3 foldable phone.

According to the leaked specifications, the Motorola Frontier is said to sport a 6.7-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR 10+ support. As noted, the phone will be powered by the overclocked Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset paired with Adreno GPU, 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. It is likely to boot Android 12 based Motorola custom skin out of the box.

The Motorola Frontier packs a 4,500mAh battery with 125W wired charging and 30W or 50W wireless charging support. It could get a 200MP primary sensor coupled with a 50MP secondary lens and a 12MP third sensor. It could get a 60MP selfie snapper on the front.

Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port for charging and data sync. The phone is expected to get an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. We should learn more details about the phone going forward.
