Motorola Rizr rollable concept phone design, features
The Motorola Rizr rollable concept phone has a 5-inch POLED screen with a 15:9 aspect ratio that can be rolled up to make a 6.5-inch screen with a 22:9 aspect ratio. When it is not rolled, the screen on the back will work as a second screen. The always-on display (AOD) shows the date, time, and weather on the secondary display, which can show notifications. Motorola gives the smartphone a motorised mechanism that makes the screen rollable. If you press the power button twice, the screen will roll. The brand has given the phone wallpapers that show effects when the screen is moved.
When it is rolled up, it has a fragile display at the top. Since the front camera and speaker are under the screen, when a call comes in, or you try to open the front camera, the screen will automatically roll up a bit. The company has made sure that some apps work well with the phone by making sure they are optimised for it. YouTube works perfectly even when the screen is made bigger.
When the screen is rolled, the video being watched in normal mode will get bigger. When you open the Gmail app, the screen will automatically get bigger to make it easier to write emails. When the screen is rolled, the app icons and other things on the screen also change on their own.
The back of the phone has two cameras and an LED flash. Moto has made it possible to switch to the front camera with a double flick of the wrist in the camera app. Motorola has put a USB Type C port on the left side of the phone. The phone houses a 3,000mAh battery. But the company hasn’t said how the device would be charged.
Several other specifications and price of the smartphone remain unknown as the brand is yet to announce the smartphone to a global audience.
