mpl: MPL launches SDK, aims to strengthen game developers – Times of India

Mobile Premier League (MPL), claimed to be the Asia’s largest skill gaming platform, has launched an advanced software development kit (SDK) with the aim to strengthen the game developer community. The SDK kit endeavours to enable developers to seamlessly publish games on the MPL Pro app as well as on Google and Apple app stores with support for large-scale eSport tournaments natively in their games.
“This builds on the SDK’s proven capabilities to monetise games via pay-to-play tournaments on the MPL app. Game developers can now focus on what they love: building a highly engaging and differentiated game experience, while leveraging MPL’s developer platform and maintaining only a single build across Playstore / Appstore and MPL app,” said Vibhav Viswanathan, vice president, Product Development, MPL.
“Challenges in building the community around multiplayer games can be easily solved by this SDK which is light weight and does not consume a lot of bandwidth from the players. This results in stronger retention and support in user acquisition activity more importantly building the competitive and fun environment,” Vamshi Krishna, CTO, YesGnome, a Bengaluru-based game developer.
For developers, according to Viswanathan, publishing on the MPL app opens up access to 90 million users, who can compete in various types of battle formats, win rewards and build recognition. Together with the large-scale eSport tournaments, developers can now reach more players, with enhanced reach, revenue and retention for their gaming titles.
Viswanathan claimed that the SDK reinforces that MPL is building upon its deep technology capabilities to enable developers to tap into the rapidly growing mobile eSports opportunity.
“We’ve enabled a rich player experience with competitive gaming on our MPL Pro platform, and today we are thrilled to extend that natively into games on the Play Store and App Store through large-scale eSport tournaments.”
