New 2022 Ather 450X electric scooter specs leak: New battery, increased range and added features

The Ather 450X was launched back in January 2020 and is a more evolved version of the older Ather 450 Plus. The Ather 450X price in India starts at Rs 1.31 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru) and the vehicle offers a 116km range, 85kmph top speed, LED lighting and touchscreen-based MID. 

2022 Ather 450X India launch soon 

The updated 2022 Ather 450X might soon hit the market as fresh leaks surface about the upcoming premium electric scooter. The leaks come through in the form of an application that was sent out to the Indian co-operative industrial research association, Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Pune. The data shows the possible upgrades that can be expected from 2022 450X. 

A new 3.66kWh battery pack will do duty on the upcoming Ather 450X and will be upgraded from the current 2.6kWh unit. The modulation of peak power and torque in the five riding modes, Warp, Sport, Ride, Eco and SmartEco mode, will vary and thereby will affect the range. 

In Warp mode, the peak power output will be 6.4kW while the nominal power output would be 3.1kW. Similarly, for Sport mode, the peak power output would be rated at 5.8kW while the nominal power output will remain at 3.1kW. The maximum ARAI-certified range in ideal conditions would be 146km. The real-world range would differ and will possibly be lower than the figure. 

Unlike most other facelifts, the Ather 450x will grow 25mm, 9mm and 11mm in length, wheelbase and height. This could affect the ergonomics and ride and handling of the Ather 450X. The 2022 Ather 450X is also expected to get a refreshed feature list as well as cosmetic updates. The upcoming version of the premium electric scooter could receive one of the more extensive updates in its life so far.
