What is Dexter about?
The original series centered on Dexter Morgan, played by Michael C. Hall. On the surface, Dexter seemed like a normal guy to nearly everyone else on the show. He also seemed to be good at his job, working as a forensic expert for the Miami Police Department. What most everyone didn’t know was that he was actually a serial killer. Orphaned at an early age, his adopted father figured out that Dexter was not going to grow up normally. So, he managed to convince Dexter to go and kill criminals and serial killers that had managed to evade the justice system.

What is Dexter: New Blood about?
Dexter: New Blood (a.k.a Dexter season 9) takes place 10 years after the end of the original series. Dexter Morgan has a new pubic identity of Jim Lindsay, and he runs a store in the small town of Iron Lake, New York. However, his serial killer instincts seem to be slowly coming out after a number of local kids go missing. Will his “dark passenger” try to go after this new threat? Oh, and he’s also talking occasionally to his deceased sister Debra (once again played by Jennifer Carpenter), and his long-lost son Harrison has reappeared in his life.
In addition to Hall and Carpenter, other cast members in this new season of Dexter include Clancy Brown as Kurt Caldwell, Julia Jones as Dexter’s new love interest Angela Bishop, and Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan. In addition, John Lithgow is slated to return as Arthur Mitchell; a.k.a the “Trinity Killer,” one of Dexter’s biggest foes from the original series, in a cameo appearance. Clyde Phillips, who was the main writer and showrunner for Dexter’s first four seasons, returns as showrunner for Dexter: New Blood.
That’s everything we know about Dexter: New Blood. We will soon see if this return of Dexter will make fans forget the ending of the original series.
