New Google Pixel phone tipped to launch in India by Q1 2022, could be Pixel 6a

Google Pixel 6a heading to India?

A new Pixel phone will be launching in India by the end of Q1 2022, which means by March this year. The handset could be the Pixel 6a, which should replace the dated Pixel 4a off the shelves. 91mobiles has exclusively shared renders of the phone, revealing the entire design in full glory. It is said to come with a Tensor chipset and an older camera setup on the back.

Talking about the design, the Pixel 6a shares a design language as the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. It has a centrally positioned punch-hole camera to house the selfie snapper and probably an in-display fingerprint sensor. It has slim bezels and a flat screen on the front. On the back, the visor-like camera module is retained this time around as well. It will house dual cameras and an LED flash. It seems to have a glass back and probably a dual-tone finish. The volume rocker and the power buttons.

The volume rocker and power button are on the right edge. It is said to measure 152.2 x 71.8 x 8.7mm (10.4mm including rear camera bump). The USB Type-C port and two grilles, one for the speaker and one for the microphone are at the bottom. There are antenna cutouts on all four sides, and the SIM card housing is on the left side of the device.

Pixel 6a specifications

Google Pixel 6a is said to sport a 6.2-inch flat OLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor. It is said to be powered by the Tensor chipset paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage that may not be further expandable. The phone will boot Android 12 OS out of the box and have a 12.2MP Sony IMX363 sensor for the primary camera and a 12MP IMX386 sensor, probably for ultra-wide shots. It could have an 8MP IMX355 sensor on the front.
