NEW DELHI: Apple recently unveiled its iPhone 13 series. The four new iPhones will go on sale this week, but speculations about Apple’s future phones have already started doing rounds on the internet.
A new online report suggests that Apple is planning to ditch the notch from its high-end iPhone models.
According to reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is planning to completely remove the notch from its next year’s iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max models. Kuo suggests that the company is said to go with the punch-hole display and is expected to house 48MP wide cameras on the back. The report further adds that iPhone users should not expect under-display Touch ID, as the feature is delayed till next year.
As reported by 9to5Mac, Kuo in a note writes, “We have revised our forecast to delay the launch of the iPhone with under-display fingerprint and the foldable iPhone to 2H23 and 2024, respectively, due to lower than expected development progress. We believe this will hurt iPhone shipments in 2022 and 2023.”
Kuo also revealed that Apple fans will have to wait longer for a foldable iPhone. He adds that the foldable iPhone is delayed till 2024. He also mentions that the absence of in-display fingerprint and the delay of foldable iPhone will hurt Apple’s shipments in 2022 and 2023.
Earlier this year, Kuo expected Apple to ship 20 million units of its first foldable smartphone in 2023. But, as per the latest note, the smartphone is now delayed till 2024.
Meanwhile, Google is all set to launch its first foldable smartphone. The company is expected to launch the Google Pixel Fold later this year. The smartphone is said to come with an LPTO OLED display and sport a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip like clamshell design.
