Nikon NX MobileAir app updated with new filtering function, RAW image support and more: Details

Nikon India Private Ltd. has announced a new version of its NX MobileAir app. The company has updated the app to version 1.1.0. For those unaware, NX MobileAir is a smartphone app, available on both Android and iOS, that allows users to upload images taken using Nikon digital cameras to a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server without using a computer.
As a part of the update, the company has added several new features and improvements to the app in order to make the user experience better.
NX MobileAir version 1.1.0: What’s new
As per the official announcement, the updated version of NX MobileAir brings a new filtering image feature that according to the company use image analysis technologies. The company also says that they’ve improved the speed and efficiency to help users’ workflow.
In addition to these, the update also includes a new filtering function in which images are automatically analysed with an algorithm that uses deep learning.
Additionally, the app can now resize and compress JPEG files before uploading to the FTP. This will help with faster upload speed. Support for the import of NEF (RAW) images has also been added to the currently supported JPEG images. RAW images stored in the camera or smart device can be imported to albums in NX MobileAir.
Other upgrades include additions to the settings of custom IPTC metadata presets that can be imported/exported and a new function that prevents the re-import of images that were previously imported and deleted from the app. The app is also more user-friendly with changes to operability and displays, including the way in which images are imported from the camera, as well as the newly added function that synchronises the clocks of two devices – camera and smart device.
