Nokia rivals Apple with a brand new budget device and this time it’s not a phone

Nokia is having a busy month with the famous Finnish firm, which is now owned by HMD Global, releasing a number of affordable feature phones including a reboot of the iconic 8210. Now the company has just launched another new budget device that has its sights set squarely on Apple’s popular iPad.

The new T10 tablet has just gone on sale and it comes packed with features for a ludicrously low price. In fact, you can pop this iPad rival on your lap for just £129 – that’s around £200 cheaper than anything Apple has in its stores.

For your money, you’ll get a tablet that features an 8-inch HD display and stereo speakers which should make it ideal for those nightly Netflix binges.

There’s also a single rear camera, durable design and it will get guaranteed Android software upgrades for years to come.

The screen can be unlocked using your face and Mask Mode means this tech even works when wearing a covering over your mouth. Nokia has also included the ability to use a second screen with this T10 tablet so you can pair it with your Windows PC.

For those with young children the T10 ships with Google Kids Space, which features a library of content aimed solely at the smaller members of the family. This means you should feel safe leaving them to play on the device without worries that they’ll stumble across inappropriate games, apps or content.

If you’re happy to spend £20 extra you can even get a model with mobile connectivity for internet access on the move.

This is not actually the first time Nokia has released a tablet with its larger T20 going on sale late last year – Express.co.uk reviewed that device back in February and you can read our full thoughts here.

If the T10 sounds enticing then it’s on sale now in Ocean Blue with the standard model with Wi-Fi costing £129.99 and the LTE version setting you back £149.

Nokia is also selling a Flip Cover case to keep things safe with this accessory costing £29.99.

Speaking about the Nokia T10, Adam Ferguson, Head of Product Marketing at HMD Global: “We entered the tablet category last October with the Nokia T20 and have been excited and encouraged by the positive feedback our fans and users have given us. We’re pleased to launch Nokia T10 which delivers the same longevity and durability that made the T20 popular, but in a more compact design to make it even more versatile.”
