Nothing co-founder and CEO Carl Pei has 10 predictions for the year 2023 – Times of India
Nothing CEO Carl Pei has shared his predictions for the year 2023 in a thread on microblogging site Twitter. The ten predictions talk about a number of things including AI killer app, world governments, hybrid working, Tesla, Elon Musk, Apple and more. Here’s over to Pei’s predictions for the year 2023:
1. At least one AI killer app will emerge (we haven’t seen nothing yet)
2. Tesla becomes just another car brand, as traditional car brands catch up
3. Twitter does really well due to Elon spending lots of time on it
4. The metaverse remains far from mass adoption
5. …But Mark turns things around at Meta by running a tighter ship
6. Apple shares go up because it’s a very high quality business
7. The smartphone keeps getting stronger as a distribution tool for software and services
8. World governments make tougher moves against Apple and their anti-consumer behaviors
9. Companies actually try and make money, and hard work is in vogue again
10. Hybrid work will fade, and companies will choose full remote or full on-site
For those unaware, Pei is also the co-founder of OnePlus. Pei left OnePlus in September 2020 after almost seven years. He co-founded UK-based company Nothing in the same year, October 2020. Nothing’s first product was Nothing Ear 1, a transparent pair of TWS earbuds. The company followed it up with Phone 1, its first Android phone. Like the Nothing Ear 1 earbuds, the Nothing 1 Phone too boasts of unique transparent design. It also has a Glyph interface. Nothing 1 Phone has a transparent back panel with LED strips that light up to signal incoming calls, notifications and charging status. The smartphone comes with its own UI called Nothing OS.
Pei recently said that there is still time for the launch of the Nothing 1 Phone successor. It is likely that Nothing 1 Phone may not get a successor before the second half of the year 2023
