Nothing has a ‘new’ app for its two wireless earbuds: How it works and other details – Times of India

Nothing launched the Nothing Ear (Stick) truly wireless stereo (TWS) earphone in India last week. The audio device will go on sale in the country from November 17. Ahead of the availability of the earphones, the London-based company has announced some changes that will let all smartphone users quickly access features of the newly-launched earbuds.
Nothing announced that the upcoming Nothing OS update will integrate the Nothing Ear (Stick) features and customisation options into the Device Details menu, which is accessible via Quick Settings. The Device Details menu is available for all Nothing Phone 1 smartphones running Nothing OS version 1.1.4 or above. The company released the Nothing OS version 1.1.6 version last week.

Earlier these features were available on the Nothing Ear (1) app which is now rebranded as Nothing X app. Those who do not have Nothing Phone (1) can download the app from Google Play store and App Store.

What the update offers
The update includes custom gesture control technology for Nothing Ear (stick) which will allow users to manually set the frequency level from low to high levels under the equaliser section.
There’s also an option where users can toggle in-ear detection and low-lag mode. It will also allow users to check the battery levels of each earbud and the charging case.
The update also features the Find My Earbuds option. Further firmware updates can be downloaded from the Device Details menu.
Nothing Ear (1) app is now Nothing X app
The Ear (1) app is getting a new name and functionalities. The app will now be renamed to Nothing X. It will have all the new features and controls to customise audio settings on both the Nothing Ear (1) and Nothing Ear (stick).
The Nothing Ear Stick will go on sale in India starting November 17 and will be available for purchase via Nothing as well as Myntra.
