Nothing says that users will not notice it since the UI remains the same, but this promises to make the system smoother and more stable.
The stable build of Nothing OS 1.5 is slated to release in early 2023. Pei, in the same interview, also revealed that Nothing OS 2.0 will be based on Android 13, though he did not provide any release date for the same.
