Nothing Phone (2) to pack Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset – Times of India

OnePlus’ co-founder Carl Pei’s technology startup Nothing launched its first smartphone — Nothing Phone (1) — last year. Earlier this year, Pei confirmed to a publication that the company will launch its next flagship smartphone — Nothing Phone (2) later this year. Now new information about the upcoming Nothing smartphone has surfaced online.
Nothing Phone (2) to pack Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset
At MWC this year, Nothing’s founder confirmed that the Nothing Phone (2) will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series chipset. Now a Qualcomm executive accidentally confirmed that the Nothing Phone (2) will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Qualcomm executive Alex Katouzian posted on LinkedIn about this development and the post was later deleted. However, the Nothing fans noticed the update. On the other hand, a tipster Abhishek Yadav also revealed that the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

“The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset promises to offer 10% increase in GPU clock speeds and 30% GPU power reduction while the Qualcomm Kryo CPU provides 10% better CPU performance and 30% CPU improved power efficiency. Plus, this platform delivers additional power savings and extended performance across the board—including over 80 minutes longer video streaming and more than 50 minutes longer web browsing,” claims the company.
It is expected that the company will keep the same transparent design for the Nothing Phone (2) and will introduce more innovations on the software part. The smartphone maker did not reveal any details about the global launch of its next-generation flagship smartphone.
Nothing Ear (2) to launch on March 22
Meanwhile, Nothing is all set to expand its hearable segment with the launch of Nothing Ear (2). The company has confirmed that it will launch its latest pair of true wireless earbuds on March 22 in India. The company has confirmed that the TWS will sport the similar unique design and is said to come with Active Noise Cancellation.
